Reasons that may prompt you to buy the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

The Galaxy Z Fold5 is Samsung's latest foldable phone, designed to increase productivity and offer the best user experience. However, it will be one of the most expensive smartphones to launch this year as it starts at $1,799,

. But even if you could afford such a premium device, would you buy one? Before you make your final decision, here are some reasons why you might want to buy Samsung's new foldable Galaxy Fold5 phone and why you should avoid it:

Three reasons that might persuade you to buy the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5:

The Galaxy Z Fold5 has a number of features that make it Samsung's best and most powerful foldable phone, including:

1- No gap when folded:

All Galaxy Fold devices up to 4G have a gap in the middle when closed. Dust and water can enter through this gap, even when the device is closed, and cause scratches or problems on the screen over time.

But thanks to the Fold5's new hinge mechanism, the phone now folds completely flat. While there are third-party foldable phones with gapless hinges, Samsung is the first company to offer this feature with an IPX8 waterproof rating.

2- It has the best system for foldable phones:

Since Samsung has experience in the foldable phone industry, it had more time to improve its One UI 5.1.1 user interface and optimize apps for the foldable form factor.

This means that the Android One UI 5.1.1 that the Fold5 runs on will likely be more stable and smoother than any other foldable phone on the market. And with the Taskbar feature that mimics the functionality of the Windows taskbar, you can quickly switch between different applications for easier multitasking.

3- It is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor specially designed for Galaxy phones:

The Galaxy Z Fold5 runs on a processor (Snapdragon 8 Gen 2) designed specifically for the latest Samsung Galaxy phones, and it's the same processor that powers the flagship Galaxy S23 Ultra. This means that the device is not only more powerful than its predecessor, but also more efficient and faster in completing tasks.

Three reasons to avoid buying the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5:

The Galaxy Z Fold5 is one of the most expensive phones out there, so there are several potential downsides that you should be aware of before making a purchasing decision, namely:

1-It is not dustproof and the shipping speed is average:

Although the Fold5 is waterproof, the "X" in the IPX8 rating indicates that the device is not officially dustproof. IPX8 is based on test conditions where the device is submerged in fresh water to a depth of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes. Samsung does not recommend using devices with this rating at the beach or pool; Because it is not dust and salt water resistant.

A little dust probably won't hurt your phone, but when you're spending $1,799 on a phone it's imperative that it's dustproof and you can use it while lounging at the beach or pool with confidence.Samsung, on the other hand, hasn't boosted the charging speeds of the Fold5, and the 25W wired charging is still the same as the previous model, and compared to other Android brands' charging speeds, 25W feels slow.

2- This is not  for normal users:

The average user uses their phone for simple tasks like browsing social media, making calls, texting, watching movies, shopping online, playing games, etc.

All these things can be done with a regular phone; You don't need an ultra-wide screen like the Fold5 foldable phone, but if you plan on multitasking on your phone most of the time and find that your current phone doesn't offer a good user experience, then the Fold5 is for you.

3- More prone to damage and high repair costs:

In general, foldable devices are more prone to damage than regular phones, and since the parts they contain are specially designed for them and are not readily available, repairs can sometimes be very expensive.
